The Skyroom is an extraordinary new rooftop pavilion commissioned by Roger Zogolovitch at Lake Estates, designed by David Kohn Architects, winner of the UK Young Architect of the Year Award 2009 and curated by The Architectural Foundation The pavilion, situated on the rooftop of 136-148 Tooley Street, London SE1 is an ingenious mix of covered and open space providing an innovative space to be enjoyed by up to 60 guests.
This unique pavilion with a bespoke designed steel structure, complemented by copper mesh facades and covered in part by the ETFE roof, boasts a cantilevered balcony over Tooley Street that offers an extraordinary experience in addition to views through the More London Development on to a magnificent stretch of the Thames. The central courtyard, which is open to the elements and has a custom made inflatable roof when required, offers framed views to The Shard, one of the new iconic additions to the London skyline.
The Skyroom is offered as a venue for hire for a variety of events ranging from private dinners, receptions, exhibitions, talks or simple get togethers for the local community. The flexible and exciting space offers a novel view out to the area and will act as an extension to local companies in the area and within the More London Development.
